The New Leaders Award is an annual prize which recognises outstanding leadership in the field of medical education for those early in their medical education career. The award is designed to provide recognition for those who have taken a leadership or management role in undergraduate, postgraduate or continuing professional development that has had clear benefit and impact on improving the quality of learning, teaching or the patient experience.  By early career, we mean medical students, doctors in training, lecturers, supervisors, support staff or mentors who have been formally involved in a leadership or management role or activity in medical education for less than five years. ASME Small Grants 2020 Recipients Announced


  The Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME), annually invites Members (including undergraduate student members and employees of institutions that are members of the Association) to submit bids for small grants (up to the value of £5,000) to support a research study in the field of medical or other healthcare education. ASME welcomes submissions from new as well as established researchers. Winner of Sir John Ellis Student Prize 2020 Announced

  The Junior Association for the Study of Medical Education (JASME) is a career group within ASME for medical students and Foundation Year doctors. One of its key goals is to encourage, promote and conduct medical education research initiated by students and junior doctors.  The Sir John Ellis Prize is an established and highly regarded national prize for new student work on a topic within medical education. ASME Social Media Intern Scheme

  Are you a medic who loves a Tweet? Are you an Instagram guru, or a Snapchat celeb? We want your help to change the world of medical education social media. SoMe is becoming increasingly influential in MedEd, acting as a key cog in disseminating good practice, facilitating debate and enabling important connections between educators. Therefore, last year we ran our first Social Media Intern scheme. Our Interns were supported to develop innovations across a variety of online platforms, attended ASME events and presented their work at conferences. So, we’re back for more! If you’re interested in medical education and SoMe, we want your help. We want you to work with ASME and our partner journals Medical Education and The Clinical Teacher to create exciting SoMe resources.
