  ASME mentoring pilot We are delighted to announce that ASME’s mentoring pilot is about to start. ‘We’ are Bob McKinley, the Director with responsibility for career groups and Simon Frazer from ‘Doctors Training’ which has been appointed as the training provider for the pilot. We are working toward having our first mentors’ training workshop in February 2021. However, because this is a pilot and correspondingly of small scale the mentors’ workshop will not be open to all members initially but if the pilot is successful, ASME plans to run more workshops. The Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME) has appointed senior medical education and communications specialist Aileen Barrett as the new editor of its leading online journal The Clinical Teacher. With extensive experience as a medical education academic and research supervisor as well as a reviewer for medical publications, Aileen Barrett will be heading up the journal’s editorial board starting 1st December 2020. The prize follows the same submission criteria and format as the Sir John Ellis Prize, however, is specifically for projects completed during an intercalated degree. We are delighted to launch the registration for our Researching Medical Education (RME) 2020 Virtual Conference, Thursday 12th November, 9am-5pm. Researching Medical Education is a one-day conference for all those interested in medical and clinical education research. The conference is designed and run by the Association for the Study of Medical Education’s Education Research Committee. The conference this year will be a virtual event, delivered in partnership with MedAll. It is designed to maintain the spirit of RME through a blend of keynote sessions and interactive workshops.
