Research Methods Series: Variations on a theme: Distinguishing Braun and Clarke's reflexive approach
Tuesday 25th May, 18:00-19:00 BST

In this session of ASME's Research Methods Series, Dr Alison Ledger (Associate Professor of Clinical Education Scholarship, University of Leeds & Interim Chair, ASME Education Research Committee) will be discussing approaches to data analysis in qualitative research.
Many people cite Braun and Clarke (2006) when undertaking thematic analysis. However, thematic analysis is an umbrella term and can be undertaken from different philosophical standpoints. In this session, we will unpick what is unique about Braun and Clarke's reflexive approach to thematic analysis and play with some data to clarify how the researcher's role in interpretation is foregrounded. Pre-session resources will be provided.
