Professor Derek Gallen

Dr Louise Dubras MBBS BSc DRCOG FRCGP, MA(Ed), PFHEA, FAcadMEd. Louise has been Deputy Dean of Medical Education at the GKT School of Medical Education in London since November 2015, leading the MBBS programme: Highly experienced in Educational Leadership, she was previously acting Associate Dean for Education in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton, having also led the undergraduate medical programme there for several years. She is a Southampton GP caring for Homeless patients: her work there informed her development of the Alcohol and Addiction subject in the medical school at Southampton and significant input to the National Undergraduate curriculum for Substance Misuse published in 2007. Other notable work has been to develop a JISC funded project introducing electronic submission and marking of student work at the medical school and then the University in Southampton, lead the development of the Working with Diversity subject on the Southampton Undergraduate curriculum and introduce Cultural Competence as an undergraduate subject at King’s as a member of the national group Diversity in Medicine and Healthcare (DIMAH).  Working in a nurse led clinical service enhances her support of Interprofessional learning; she was a member of the Common Learning board at the University of Southampton 2010-2012. Her recent educational leadership project has been to introduce a new undergraduate curriculum at King’s, a large and complex theory driven change management initiative.
